The Department of Computer Science and Engineering ( Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) is a unique center of Tagore Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) established in 2023. AI&ML is an undergraduate programme are frequently used interchangeably, but Machine Learning is a subset of the broader division of Artificial Intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence refers to the general capability of computers to emulate human study and perform tasks in real-world surroundings, while machine learning refers to the technologies and algorithms that enable systems to identify patterns, make decisions, and refine themselves through experience and data.
The department explores the cutting-edge fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), that drive innovation and revolutionize industries. In an era of unprecedented technological advancements, AI and ML have emerged as key drivers of progress, transforming how we live, work, and interact.
Beyond technical proficiency, the ethical and responsible use of AI and ML are emphasised. We instill in our students the importance of understanding the societal impact of their work, and the need for addressing issues of fairness, transparency, privacy, and ethics in AI systems
The confluence of academia and industries is inevitable in the growing field of Computer Science. TIET, has come out with a novel solution of running B.E courses aligned with industrial standards along with the industrial leader IBM.
Artificial Intelligence specialization will create engineers, who can build solutions, with intelligence as humans. With 5 million job openings a year, AI is called as the skill of the century. The Programme with specialization on AI and Machine Learning will have core courses from Computer Science and Engineering and electives courses in AI and Machine Learning, which are designed by IBM. Upon completion of the course, every student will receive a digital badge from IBM along with the degree from TIET, which gives them a edge over other students.
The Computer Science and Engineering (Artificail Intelligence and Machine Learning) Offers an excellent blend of research and practice oriented academic programmes. The programme objectives include generating competent professionals and keeping pace with the technological advancements through focused R&D. Currently, it offers the following programmes:
