Plagiarism / Code of Ethics


Our Institution has the state-of -art infrastructure to provide the valuable education for 05 under graduate (UG) programs and 03 post-graduate (PG) programs in Engineering and Management studies. It has engaged well qualified, experienced and doctorate faculties in teaching and research. In the meantime, our faculties and students are encouraged to involve themselves in attending Conferences, Seminars and publish the research papers in reputed journals to exhibit the code of ethics and plagiarism as a significance component in Research and Development.

  • Main Objectives:

  • To promote research publications and to prevent plagiarism in R&D.
  • To develop the highest standard of integrity in academic environment.
  • To create awareness of anti-plagiarism and set up mechanisms to avoid plagiarism in the research and publication.
  • Plagiarism:

    ‘Plagiarism’ originally means that the literary theft of original authors’ ideas, thoughts, and expressions in unauthorized way. Plagiarism involves copying of Phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or longer extracts from published or unpublished work including from internet without giving acknowledgement.

    Important Rule to avoid the Plagiarism:

  • Ensure and acknowledge the originality of authors’ work by giving the due credit of proper reference.
  • Don’t copy (or) duplicate one’s work and cite the sentence in inverted commas, if you quote text verbatim.
  • Enable self-aware of checking own work with plagiarism checker.
  • Acquire the knowledge and update the practice in effective writing skill.
  • Two main types of Plagiarism are to be considered:

    1. Intentional Plagiarism:

    Deliberately re-using, downloading and copying another person’s work as one’s own work without any recognition.

    2. Unintentional Plagiarism:

    Innocently or carelessly paraphrasing, quoting or citing the work of others without acknowledging the source in the reference.

    Core values of Ethics and Research:

    Research ethics is an integral part of Research and Development. Copyright permission is necessary if you are reproducing your work in another publication and published work is protected by copyright law.Urkund software is enabled to cite the plagiarism.

    Besides the matters described above, some academic misconducts are subjected to be followed:

  • Falsifying lab results
  • Padding a bibliography with unsuitable works
  • Helping another student in an act of academic dishonesty; like writing a paper or preparing materials for someone else
  • Providing false or incomplete or supporting documents/materials on an application for admission, readmission, or transfer;
  • Attempting to alter or falsify, grade information or other records of academic performance;
  • Hindering other students in obtaining fair access to materials and facilities; for example, cutting an article out of a Library copy of a journal;
  • Behavior that interferes with the evaluation of another student’s work, such as failure to participate in a group project.
  • Disciplinary action:

    The Research and Development cell (R&D) has been comprised of four members are responsible and monitors the level of plagiarism and the presence of plagiarism in academic discipline. After ensuring the malpractices through investigation, the committee will recommended for disciplinary action within a period of 15 days from the date of complaint.
