Department / Welcome to Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Department

Introduction


The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science was established in the year 2022 with an intake of 60 students. It is a four-year full-time undergraduate program recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The department has a team of dedicated and experienced faculty with the goal of training students with world-class infrastructure, curriculum, comprehensive hands-on experience, and conducting research in the field of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science.

All the classrooms are well furnished with a smart board facility. The department has 2 well-equipped laboratories with higher configuration systems along with a smartboard available in each laboratory to give the best to the students. All laboratories are designed with the aim to present as an Activity Based Learning (ABL) laboratory to the students where they use all equipment in a comfortable environment.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a set of technologies that enable computers to perform a variety of advanced functions, including the ability to see, understand and translate spoken and written language, analyze data, make recommendations, and more. This lab serves as a centralized hub for development teams to seamlessly build, deploy, and operate Artificial Intelligence solutions at scale. It is designed to cover the end-to-end AI lifecycle, from data processing and experimentation to model training and deployment.

The Artificial Intelligence Lab is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with high-end machines and AI development kits. The lab is designed to give students hands-on experience in various Artificial Intelligence applications, such as Predictive Analysis, Image Detection and Analysis, and Natural Language Processing tools and applications.

AI & DS FUNCTION ORGANIZED

Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data science has inaugurated the Association- “TECHSTA 2K23” for the Academic Year 2023-2024 and Organized on 12.10.2023. The inaugural function started at 10:00 a.m. in Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Auditorium.

The function was inaugurated in the presence of our President, Prof. R. Paramasivam M.Com., M.Phil., the Vice President, Mr. K. Shanmugam, Joint Secretary, Mrs. J. Sabana, Principal, Dr. S. Jayanthi, Dr. C.B. Sivaparthipan, Department of AI & DS, faculty members, and students of the AI Department. The event began with the lighting of the lamp by our esteemed chief guest, our President, Vice President, Joint Secretary and Principal.

Mr. G. Kirubakaran, a second-year student in AI & DS, warmly welcomed the gathering, while Mrs. S. Kokila, Assistant Professor, introduced the chief guest to the audience. Dr. C.B. Sivaparthipan then introduced the Association members to the department during the meeting
