• To organize awareness programmes on gender sensitization/equality.
• To conduct seminars, workshops, talk shows to impart knowledge on opportunities available.
• Create awareness on the socio-political, economic and legal rights of women.
• To highlight the importance of spirituality, health, hygiene. safety and self-defense by organizing various Programmes. .
• To inculcate entrepreneurial attitude to enable them to be job providers rather than job seekers'
Even while our Prime Minister Mr.NarendraModi ,to the who’s who among our politicians and social activists are storming forth fiery speeches on women’s issues, the girl students of Women Empowerment Cell , Tagore Institute of Engineering and Technology, struck a whole new path breaking note , when they entreated the boy students, male staff …….and why, the Principal himself, to be sworn in to a never- before taken Pledge which goes thus:
“I take this pledge in the name of my mother
I will always treat all women with dignity and respect
I will never physically or mentally abuse any women
I will remain committed to the elimination of violence against women”
The girls too had their Pledge time which goes thus…
“I will always consciously value and protect my dignity and self respect
I will not tolerate any physical or mental abuse
I will remain committed to the elimination of violence against women”
The women empowerment Cell at Tagore Institute of Engineering and Technology with the motto of "Empowering through engaging ,,. The cell aims to empower girl students and faculty, enhance their understanding of issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place for girls and women and to address the practical issues related to the welfare and equal opportunities for Women faculty, staff and students with a view to take up women's issues and problems.the cell aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties. It also provides a platform for women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society. Added to it suggestions for irnprovement and empowerment among themselves has been given. Aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, the cell stands for facilitating women's empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programs and other welfare activities.

Women’s Day celebration had begun with a beautiful and thoughtful prayer service by the students on 8th March 2023. The purpose of celebrating Women’s Day is – To raise awareness about the status and dignity of women among the students. On this special occasion, the Women’s Day celebration starts with Thamizhthaivazhthu at 9.30am. The prayer service highlighted the importance of women, the role of women and her greatness in every sphere of our life.
At the beginning of program our respected President Prof. R .Paramasivam, Tagore Educational Institution enlightening the lamp.After that Our Principal Dr.S.Jayanthi Ph.D., gave a short speech on Women’s day.
The gathering was extended a gracious welcome, with a graceful classical dance by the students. The students performed a dance which depicted the unique qualities of women on the whole.
Our Chief Guest Dr.A.Kavidha, She shared the woes of rural women during the pandemic and her experience of working with the survivors of domestic violence. She highlighted the role of markets in discriminating between genders. Also, she emotionally recalled the sacrifices made by women and their selfless contributions.
The Female staff with the guidance of the Principal conducted various games to mark this day. The Faculty actively participated in the games and were delighted by this surprise given to them. Then some fun events were designed to make the realize the women’s daily household work and of course to have fun for all .Vote of thanks was expressed by Students .The programme was concluded by singing the National Anthem.
Every women’s success should be an inspiration to another. We’re strongest when we cheer each other on.

Sharing a personal incident, she talked about the mind-set of people on Feminism. She also addressed the audience with her speech on the rights of the marginalised women.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of various events like cooking, drawing and painting organized in connection with women’s day celebration and students delivered brilliant speeches, recited poems and soulful songs praising womanhood.
Also, he emotionally recalled the sacrifices made by women and their selfless contributions.
While offering some constructive solutions to overcome the challenges faced by women, she pointed out how we miss to appreciate ourselves as a constructive resource in a given situation. She motivated the young participants to be joyous in their lives and find meaning in their living.
